New Indie Sewing Patterns Round Up
True Bias Riley overalls pattern 0-18 (14-32 size pattern)

The True Bias Riley overalls are a classic, casual denim style overall or dungaree with all the traditional jeans hardware such as dungaree clips and jeans buttons.
You can choose to sew full length overalls or shorts and they have a relaxed fit with a wide leg and low cross over back design.
This pattern is size inclusive and available in a 0 -18 (an 18 is a 44.5" bust, 38.5" waist and 46.5" hip) or a 14 - 32 (a 32 is a 59.5" bust, 52.5" waist and 61.5" hip).
Sew them up in medium weight woven fabrics like denim or twill. I think our classic indigo denim would be perfect.
Chalk and Notch Shay dress pattern

The Chalk and Notch Shay dress is, in my humble opinion, quite simply gorgeous!
It has a fitted bodice with four cup size options and princess seams to make fitting oh so much easier, a tiered, gathered maxi skirt and is fastened with an invisible zip at the back.
There are options for a sleeveless version with button down front or a short puff sleeve with a cute fold detail and fastened with a tie.
Chalk and Notch patterns are another great size inclusive pattern brand and the Shay dress runs up to a size 30, which is a 55" bust for the A cup, a 56" bust for the B cup, a 57" bust for the C cup and a 58" bust for the D cup. The size 30 waist is 49" and the hip is 59".
Patterns with cup sizes mean it is much easier to fit the bust because you can choose the bodice piece that most closely matches your body measurements rather than having to alter the bodice to fit.
Sew the Shay up in light to medium weight woven fabrics like viscose, rayon, cotton lawn or linen. I think it would look great sewn up in our ex designer deadstock abstract dark print fabric using our stretch libra lining to line the bodice.
Chalk and Notch Isle jeans pattern

The Chalk and Notch Isle jeans come with two ultra contemporary cuts - a high waisted wide leg or a high waisted flared leg and have all the classic jeans design details you would expect plus some fun patch pockets on the front of the jeans.
The Isle jeans are size inclusive and run up to a size 30, which is a 49" waist and 59" hip.
I'd sew them up in our classic indigo denim and would thoroughly enjoy all that topstitching with our Gutermann top stitching thread.
Style Arc Shannon jumpsuit pattern

The Style Arc Shannon jumpsuit is a relaxed design with wide legs, an elasticated waist and a blouson effect bodice with either a V neck and short sleeves or a sleeveless crew neck design.
Both versions have a button down opening on the back bodice, which is a lovely design feature, although some of our YouTube fans pointed out it might be a little challenging for toilet visits!
Style Arc patterns are usually very size inclusive and the Shannon jumpsuit runs up to a size 30, which is a 58.25" bust, 50.5" waist and 61" hip.
I would sew the Shannon jumpsuit up in our beautiful, red Prestige crepe for a party wear vibe. Dressed up with metallic heels and accessories for full on evening glamour.
The beauty of this pattern is it would be just as easy to create a laid, back casual day look too with a viscose or cotton print or perhaps even a lightweight denim or chambray.
Style Arc Stevie denim jacket pattern

The Stevie jean jacket pattern has all the classic denim jacket features and is a relaxed fit, almost oversized looking jacket.
I love the unusual parallel top stitching design, which runs from the patch pockets to the hem.
There are so many ways to add your own personal twist to this pattern with your choice of top stitching thread, embroidery and other trimmings.
The Stevie jacket also runs up to Style Arc's size inclusive 30 and I would sew it up in one of our denim fabrics to create a wear with anything wardrobe workhorse.
Style Arc Tommie jeans skirt pattern

The midi length denim skirt has been theskirt for 2023 and not just for one season. It is so versatile and I saw it teamed with t-shirts or camis, flat sandals or trainers for Spring/Summer then cosy turtlenecks, leather jackets and knee high or ankle boots for Autumn/Winter.
I love the Tommie jeans skirt pattern nails this trend! It has all the classic denim skirt features - a back yoke, patch pockets, belt loops, a fly front fastening and the all important front split.
It runs up to a size 30 as detailed above and I would sew it up in our charcoal denim.
Style Arc Montana dress extension pack pattern

The Style Arc Montana dress was a super popular pattern in it's own right and now there's an extension pack to create even more gorgeous looks. To use the extension pack you must already have purchased the Montana dress pattern.
The extension pack gives you 3 sleeve options - a simple short sleeve, a long sleeve gathered at the hem and a 3/4 sleeve with a trumpet hem. It also gives you 4 bodice options - a sleeveless V neck, a sleeveless view with a slash opening at the centre front and stand up collar with frill detail, a crew neck with capped, grown on sleeve and a simple crew neck design.
You can mix and match the sleeves and bodice designs to create multiple looks with just one pattern so it is great value for money not to mention the time you'll save once you've got the fit right.
It runs up to a size 30 and I would sew the V neck, long sleeved version in our gorgeously silky soft viscose ditsy print fabric.
Style Arc Hope dress extension pack pattern

The Hope dress extension pack works in the same way as the Montana - purchase the original Hope dress pattern and the extension pack to create multiple looks.
Choose from a crew neck bodice with keyhole opening and neck tie, a cross over wrap bodice or a crew neck, button down front bodice, all of which have a raglan style sleeve.
For the sleeves you have options for a 3/4 sleeve gathered into a cuff, 3/4 very full sleeve with elastic opening or an elbow length double tucked draped sleeve.
The Hope dress and extension packs run up to a size 30 and I thought the cross over version with loose fitting sleeves would look perfect sewn up in our French viscose leaf print ex designer deadstock fabric.
Have fun sewing!
