The BERNINA 475 QE Quilter’s Edition is a powerful, precision sewing machine designed with quilters in mind, but its excellent stitch quality, generous range of features and easy-to-use controls make it a superb choice for all kinds of sewing.
At the heart of the machine is the BERNINA Hook, delivering beautifully consistent stitches at speeds of up to 900 stitches per minute. The front-loading Jumbo Bobbin holds up to 70% more thread than a standard bobbin, so you can sew for longer with fewer interruptions – particularly useful when quilting or working on larger projects.
The centrally positioned 4.3-inch colour touchscreen makes choosing and adjusting stitches quick and intuitive, while the multifunction knobs give you precise control over your settings. With 840 stitch patterns, including 200 decorative stitches, 40 quilting stitches, 29 utility stitches and four sewing alphabets, there are plenty of creative possibilities to explore.
For patchwork, the BERNINA 475 QE includes the Patchwork Foot #37, designed for accurate straight stitching and precise ¼-inch seam allowances. There is also 7 inches of space to the right of the needle, providing useful room for managing quilt blocks, garments and other larger sewing projects.
The BERNINA Free Hand System (FHS) allows you to raise and lower the presser foot using the knee lifter, leaving both hands free to position and guide your fabric. Adjustable presser foot pressure helps you achieve smooth results across a wide variety of fabrics, while BERNINA Adaptive Thread Tension helps maintain beautifully balanced stitches.
Useful automatic features make everyday sewing quicker and easier too. The automatic thread cutter cuts the upper and lower threads at the touch of a button, while needle up/down, Start/Stop sewing, adjustable sewing speed and a semi-automatic needle threader help streamline your sewing.
The BERNINA 475 QE is also BSR compatible, allowing you to add the optional BERNINA Stitch Regulator for consistent stitch lengths when free-motion quilting.
