The BERNINA 580 Liberty Edition combines BERNINA’s precision engineering with the unmistakable style of Liberty. Produced in limited quantities, this special edition machine features an exclusive faceplate in Liberty’s Glen Lyon Blooms print, a matching dust cover and a selection of exclusive Liberty stitches and embroidery designs, making it a beautiful choice for sewing, quilting and embroidery.
Behind the distinctive floral design is a highly capable machine with 1,482 built-in stitch patterns, including 482 decorative stitches, 74 quilting stitches, 35 utility stitches, 16 buttonholes and eyelets and eight sewing alphabets. Among these are 32 exclusive Liberty decorative stitches, specially chosen to complement the character of the Liberty Edition.
The BERNINA Dual Feed feeds fabric evenly from above and below, helping you achieve beautifully controlled results on multiple layers, slippery fabrics and fine materials. With 8.5 inches of space to the right of the needle, there is also plenty of room for larger garments, quilts and home furnishing projects.
The centrally positioned 4.3-inch colour touchscreen makes selecting and adjusting stitches straightforward, while the multifunction knobs give you precise control over stitch width and length. A maximum stitch width of 9mm gives you plenty of creative scope for decorative stitching, while the automatic presser foot lift, Pivot/Hover function and adjustable presser foot pressure help make fabric handling easier.
At the heart of the machine is the BERNINA Hook, delivering smooth, consistent stitching at speeds of up to 1,000 stitches per minute. The convenient front-loading Jumbo Bobbin holds up to 70% more thread than a standard bobbin, while the automatic thread cutter trims the upper and lower threads at the touch of a button.
For free-motion quilting, the BERNINA Stitch Regulator (BSR) is included as standard. The BSR helps maintain consistent stitch lengths as you move the fabric freely beneath the needle, making it easier to achieve beautifully even free-motion quilting results. The machine also includes Patchwork Foot #97D, together with Edgestitch Foot #10D and Open Embroidery Foot #20D as part of its eight included BERNINA presser feet.
The BERNINA 580 Liberty Edition is also embroidery ready. Add the optional Embroidery Module M with Smart Drive Technology to unlock an embroidery area of up to 400 x 150mm, 349 built-in embroidery designs and seven embroidery alphabets. Of those designs, 91 are exclusive Liberty embroidery designs, giving you even more ways to bring the Glen Lyon Blooms aesthetic into your projects.
