The BERNINA 790 ULTRA is an advanced sewing and quilting machine designed for sewists who want exceptional precision, generous workspace and some of BERNINA’s most innovative technology. With the BERNINA Integrated Stitch Regulator (BISR), Pinpoint Laser, automatic stitch plate recognition, Jumbo Stitch and a large 7-inch colour touchscreen, it offers outstanding control for quilting, dressmaking and creative sewing.
The built-in BERNINA Integrated Stitch Regulator takes free-motion quilting to another level. Simply fit the included 5.5mm BISR Stitch Plate with Sensor and use the quilting foot of your choice. The machine regulates stitch length automatically as you move your fabric, and the system can be used with BERNINA free-motion quilting feet and accessories, including ruler work.
The BERNINA Pinpoint Laser shows exactly where the needle will enter the fabric in every needle position, helping you position seams, topstitching and quilting lines with exceptional accuracy. Three sensor-enabled stitch plates are also included, and the machine recognises each one automatically as soon as it is fitted.
Creative sewing gets a significant boost from Jumbo Stitch, which allows compatible decorative stitches and monograms to be resized from 25% up to 500%. Stitch Designer and 360° directional sewing give you even more freedom to create bold, individual decorative effects directly on the machine.
The large 7-inch colour touchscreen provides clear, intuitive access to stitches, settings and built-in help, while the generous 10-inch workspace to the right of the needle gives you plenty of room for quilts, garments and larger projects.
At the heart of the machine is the BERNINA Hook, capable of producing precise stitches up to 9mm wide at speeds of up to 1,000 stitches per minute. The front-loading Jumbo Bobbin holds up to 70% more thread than a standard bobbin, helping reduce interruptions during longer sewing and quilting sessions.
The BERNINA 790 ULTRA is also embroidery capable. The compatible Embroidery Module L with Smart Drive Technology can be purchased separately, allowing you to add advanced machine embroidery at a later date if you wish. With the module fitted, the machine offers a maximum embroidery area of 400 x 210mm, 610 built-in embroidery designs and 25 embroidery alphabets.
