A powerful DC motor gives you excellent speed control, from slow, stitch-by-stitch sewing right up to an impressive 1,500 stitches per minute. The automatic needle stop brings the needle to the correct position when you stop sewing, helping make corners, adjustments and fabric positioning easier.
The BERNINA Free-Hand System (FHS) lets you raise and lower the presser foot using the included knee lifter, leaving both hands free to guide and position your fabric. This is especially useful when working on tricky seams or precise garment details.
Threading is straightforward thanks to the colour-coded lay-in threading system, lower looper threader and clear handwheel position indicator. Thread tension is automatically released when the presser foot is raised, helping make rethreading and adjustments quicker and easier.
The adjustable differential feed helps prevent wavy seams on stretch fabrics and puckering on lightweight fabrics, and it can also be used deliberately to create gathering effects. Both stitch length and differential feed can be adjusted while you sew, so it is easy to fine-tune the finish as you work.
