The BERNINA L 620 Coverstitch Machine is designed to give handmade garments the polished finish you would expect from ready-to-wear clothing. Ideal for jersey, activewear, T-shirts, hems, bindings and decorative topstitching, it combines precise stitch quality with easy threading, excellent control and plenty of space for larger projects.
The illuminated One-Step BERNINA Air Threader makes threading the looper quick and straightforward, while the built-in needle threader takes care of the needles. Colour-coded threading paths and the magnetic all-in-one looper cover help make setup simple, so you can spend more time sewing and less time threading.
The L 620 offers 7 stitch variations, including 4-thread coverstitch, 3-thread wide and narrow coverstitches and 2-thread chainstitch options. With coverstitch widths of 3mm and 6mm and stitch lengths from 1.5–5mm, it gives you plenty of flexibility for hemming, topstitching, attaching elastic and creating decorative effects.
The adjustable differential feed helps keep stretch fabrics smooth and wave-free, prevents puckering on finer fabrics and can also be used deliberately to create gathering effects. Stitch length, differential feed and thread tension can all be adjusted while you sew, making it easy to fine-tune the finish for different fabrics and techniques.
With 120mm of space to the right of the needles, the L 620 gives you plenty of room for larger garment projects. The included slide-on table extends the working area even further, while the coverstitch insert with seam markings helps you keep hems and topstitching accurately positioned.
The BERNINA Free Hand System (FHS) lets you raise and lower the presser foot using the knee lifter while keeping both hands on your project. When the presser foot is raised, the feed dog also lowers automatically, making it easier to position and remove your fabric. The swing-out presser foot gives you additional access around the needles when threading or changing needles.
A powerful DC motor delivers smooth, quiet sewing at speeds of up to 1,200 stitches per minute, while still giving you the control to sew slowly or stitch by stitch when precision is important. Programmable needle stop up/down and adjustable speed control give you even more control over detailed sewing.
The L 620 also includes practical features such as a dimmable LED sewing light, magnetic tool holder, 3-step presser foot pressure adjustment and the Clear Cover/Chainstitch Foot #C28 as standard.
