The BERNINA L 660 Overlocker combines easy threading, precise stitch control and smooth, quiet performance to give your sewing a beautifully professional finish. Designed for dressmaking, jersey, activewear, lingerie and creative overlocking, it offers plenty of control while making everyday overlocker setup much quicker and easier.
Threading is refreshingly straightforward thanks to the illuminated One-Step BERNINA Air Threader. Simply position the looper threads at the threading ports and use the foot control to send them through the machine automatically. The built-in needle threader, colour-coded one-path threading and magnetic all-in-one looper cover make getting ready to sew even easier.
The L 660 offers 18 stitch variations, including 4-thread overlock, wide and narrow 3-thread overlock, super-stretch, flatlock, rolled hem, picot stitch and a choice of 2-thread finishes. With an adjustable stitch width of 3 - 9mm and stitch length from 0.8 - 4.5mm, there is plenty of flexibility for everything from fine fabrics to thicker knits and decorative finishes.
BERNINA's Micro Thread Control (mtc) lets you fine-tune the amount of looper thread wrapping around the fabric edge with one simple adjustment. Combined with stepless differential feed, it makes it easy to achieve smooth, balanced seams on everything from lightweight woven fabrics to highly stretchy jersey, while also allowing you to deliberately create gathering and other decorative effects.
The BERNINA Free Hand System (FHS) lets you raise and lower the presser foot using the knee lifter while keeping both hands on your project. Raising the presser foot also lowers the feed dog, giving you extra space to position or remove your fabric. The presser foot swings out to the side too, providing easy access when changing needles or threading.
A powerful DC motor gives you excellent control at any speed, from precise stitch-by-stitch sewing to a maximum of 1,200 stitches per minute. The programmable needle stop lets you choose whether the needle finishes up or down, while the back-kick function on the BERNINA foot control lets you change the needle position without taking your hands away from your work.
The L 660 has a generous working area and includes a sturdy slide-on table to support larger or heavier projects. The upper knife can be quickly disengaged from outside the machine whenever you want to sew without trimming, while the cutting width can be adjusted to create overlock stitches up to 9mm wide.
