The Charlotte Dress is a stylish day-to-evening dress, gorgeous for those special occasions. Featuring a relaxed, comfy fit, Charlotte has a contemporary feel but with her lovely collar and V-neck faux wrap, she offers a nod to the elegance of the past.
The dress closes at the centre back with an invisible zip and includes a fabric belt to cinch it in at the waist, held in place with belt loops. And yes, it has pockets!
Charlotte can look completely different depending on fabric choice, so no matter what occasion you have coming up, this pattern has you covered!
To ensure the fabric will be able to hold the pleats and the collar, Charlotte is best made in a medium weight woven fabric with drape, such as medium weight crepe, lightweight wool, linen, or a linen viscose mix. We recommend the fabric has some body, and suggest avoiding lightweight fabrics such as rayon challis, georgette and silk. Charlotte looks completely different made in a patterned fabric versus a solid colour, so there’s lots of fun to be had when designing your dress.

If you opt for the printed paper pattern we'll print it on our in-house large format A0 printer and post it to your address.
Please note that we don’t print the instructions. These will be emailed to you as a PDF‚ along with the digital pattern files‚ when we dispatch your paper pattern.
Occasionally some large pattern pieces may be split across two A0 sheets and will need to be joined together.
Choose this option if you would like to print the pattern yourself at home or use your own copy shop/A0 printing service.
