Make the perfect summer cami with the Emily Top sewing pattern!
Warning, this pattern is addictive! The Emily Top is a cami pattern you’ll be wearing all summer. Once you’ve nailed the fit, you’ll want to make it over and over again. It’s quick to sew and it doesn’t use up much fabric.
We wanted to give you lots of variations so you can make the perfect top for you: pick between a crop top or a full length cami with a beautiful curved hem. Make Emily with a V-neck or a scoop neck and keep it simple or add a pretty frill.
Emily is finished with a facing that cleverly encloses the raw edges on the armholes and neckline with the burrito method.
All versions work well in a drapey fabric like viscose or viscose linen, and the cropped version also looks great in cotton or linen. The frill is cut on the straight grain, so it’s a great opportunity to play with border prints or the scalloped edge of a broderie anglaise.

We recommend light to medium weight woven fabrics, think viscose, crepe and cotton lawns. You can also use broderie anglaise to make the most of the frill edge. The cropped version can also be made in cotton and brocade fabrics for a more structured, boxy look.
