The spring-action design helps keep the fabric from lifting with the needle as each stitch is formed, which can help reduce thread breakage when using specialty or heavier threads. Vertical and horizontal markings on the foot also provide useful visual guides as you sew, helping you maintain consistent positioning and direction.

For use, fit the foot to the presser bar, select a centre needle position straight stitch and set the machine to Free Motion Spring Action mode. With the feed dogs lowered, you control the stitch length by moving the fabric smoothly beneath the foot.
