Compatible with the Husqvarna Viking Designer Epic 3 Sewing and Embroidery Machine‚ the 450mm x 450mm Mega Turnable Hoop allows you to embroider extra-large projects in a single hooping. Expertly designed with embroidery enthusiasts in mind‚ this hoop features reinforced corners and integrated fabric grips—delivering precision‚ stability‚ and premium quality with every stitch.
Size: 450mm x 450mm
Compatible machines:
The embroidery surface measures 450mm x 450mm. This is a large embroidery area‚ and for the best results‚ it is important to hoop the fabric properly and keep it taut within the hoop.
Note: When embroidering with the 450mm x 450mm hoop‚ make sure to mount the embroidery extension and the large hoop supports to your embroidery unit / machine.
You can start embroidering right away using any of the turnable hoop designs included with your machine. These designs are created in two halves‚ positioned on each side of the hoop. In the design booklet available online (or by following the QR code shown here)‚ the 450x450 hoop is indicated by a turnable hoop icon.
Note: A few of the built-in designs are placed slightly off-centre within the embroidery area. This ensures that no part of the design is positioned across the overlap area.
You can also create your own design by placing several designs within the hoop area. When the 450x450mm hoop is selected in the hoop options menu‚ the A and B sides are highlighted on screen. The center of the embroidery area includes a 30mm overlap zone.
When creating your own embroidery‚ each design must be placed fully within either side A or B. If a design overlaps both sides‚ crossing the overlap zone‚ it cannot be stitched out. You will need to move it entirely to one side before entering Embroidery Stitch-Out.
Designs will be embroidered in the order they are added to the embroidery area. If you have placed your designs on both sides as described‚ you will need to rotate the hoop between stitching each design.
If the first part of the design is placed on the A-side‚ this will be the first side to be embroidered. If the first design is placed on the B-side (as in the example to the right)‚ that side will be stitched first.
Once the designs are positioned correctly‚ enter Embroidery Stitch-Out. The active side of the hoop will be highlighted on the screen; the inactive side will be dimmed.
Note: When the B-side is active‚ the designs appear rotated on the screen in Embroidery Stitch-Out. The active side is also indicated by an icon in the secondary top bar.
Attach the corresponding embroidery hoop connector to the embroidery unit.
If needed‚ use the basting function before starting embroidery. Basting will be performed one side at a time. After basting the first side‚ a message will appear on screen prompting you to rotate the hoop. Rotate the hoop and continue basting the other side.
Your machine will guide you through the embroidery process‚ letting you know when to rotate the hoop.
The built-in designs created for the 450x450mm hoop include alignment stitches on each half. These ensure that both halves of the design align perfectly.
Once the hoop is rotated‚ you can step forward in the design using the Go to Stitch + icon until the needle is exactly above the alignment stitch.
Ensure that the needle point matches the alignment stitch sewn on the first side. If it doesn’t align perfectly‚ open Exact Positioning to make precise adjustments.
