The Janome 230DC Limited Edition is a compact, computerised sewing machine packed with practical features to make everyday sewing simple and enjoyable. With 30 built-in stitches including three buttonholes, an easy-to-read LCD screen and Janome’s Superior Feed System (SFS), it offers smooth, consistent feeding across a wide variety of fabrics.
A key upgrade on this Limited Edition model is the Easy Set Bobbin system. Simply guide the bobbin thread through the cover plate and the built-in cutter trims it to the correct length, so there’s no need to pull up a long bobbin thread before you start sewing. It’s a small feature that makes setting up quicker and gives you a neat, fuss-free start to your stitching.
There’s also an automatic presser foot sensor, which prevents the machine from sewing until the presser foot has been lowered, helping to avoid thread tangles caused by accidentally starting with the foot raised.
With a speed control slider, start/stop button, needle up/down, automatic lock stitch, needle threader and adjustable presser foot pressure, the 230DC Limited Edition gives you plenty of control whether you’re dressmaking, quilting or tackling everyday sewing projects. The 7-piece feed dog system helps move fabric evenly, while the adjustable foot pressure offers six settings to suit different fabric types.
The machine has a maximum stitch width of 7mm, maximum stitch length of 5mm and a sewing speed of up to 820 stitches per minute. It can also be converted to free-arm sewing for cuffs, sleeves and other tubular projects.
A particularly useful extra is the included 18" x 10" extension table, giving you additional support for larger projects. The machine also comes with a hard cover and a useful selection of standard presser feet and accessories.
