The Janome Atelier 8 is a feature-packed computerised sewing machine designed for sewists who want generous workspace, advanced fabric control and plenty of creative flexibility. With a substantial 210mm (8.3") workspace to the right of the needle, a large 5" high-definition colour touchscreen and a maximum sewing speed of up to 1,060 stitches per minute, it is well suited to dressmaking, quilting, home furnishings and larger sewing projects.
The Atelier 8 includes 350 stitch options, including 11 automatic one-step buttonholes, plus a wide selection of lettering styles and multilingual character sets. With a maximum stitch width of 9mm, pattern elongation up to five times, vertical and horizontal mirror imaging and the ability to combine up to 100 stitches, there is plenty of scope for decorative and creative sewing.
Janome’s AcuFeed system helps feed fabric evenly from above and below, making it particularly useful for multiple layers, slippery fabrics and quilting. Automatic presser foot pressure, an automatic presser foot lifter, pivoting, floating function and ruler work mode give you excellent control over a wide variety of techniques and fabric types. The machine is also compatible with Janome’s A.S.R. Accurate Stitch Regulator for free-motion quilting.
Everyday sewing is made easier with features including a built-in superior needle threader, automatic thread cutter, programmable needle up/down, speed control slider and automatic needle stop position. The top-loading horizontal full rotary hook and Easy Set Bobbin make bobbin changes straightforward, while upper and bobbin thread sensors help alert you before your thread runs out.
The Atelier 8 also gives you impressive precision, with 91 needle positions adjustable in 0.1mm increments, twin needle capability and an easy-change needle plate system. Stitch Composer software lets you create your own stitches and transfer them to the machine via USB, while the Janome AcuSpark mobile app provides additional guidance and support.
