The Janome HD9 QC Professional is a powerful, professional-level straight stitch sewing machine designed for sewists who demand exceptional speed, precision and durability. This exciting new streamlined model sits alongside the existing HD9 and is perfect for Quilters.

Its sturdy flat-bed construction features a die-cast aluminium body and eight enclosed ball bearings within the main shaft, helping the machine run smoothly and quietly while providing the stability needed for accurate stitching.

With sewing speeds of up to 1,650 stitches per minute, the HD9 QC Professional makes light work of larger projects without sacrificing control. The speed control slider allows you to reduce the maximum speed when working on detailed areas, while the needle up/down function, automatic thread cutter and adjustable knee lift help to keep your hands focused on your work.

A generous 229mm wide by 150mm high workspace provides plenty of room for quilting, bag making, garment sewing and textile art. The machine’s floating function raises the presser foot by up to 3mm while stitching, helping to reduce fabric slippage, puckering and wrinkles when sewing curves, multiple layers or specialist fabrics. Adjustable presser foot pressure gives you even greater control across a wide range of materials.

The drop feed facility allows you to move easily into free-motion quilting without fitting a separate darning plate. An industrial-style vertical full rotary hook, large metal bobbins and independent bobbin-winding motor make the HD9 QC Professional particularly well suited to frequent and demanding use. Each large bobbin holds approximately 40% more thread than an average domestic sewing machine bobbin, meaning fewer interruptions during long seams or quilting projects.

What is the difference between the Janome HD9 and Janome HD9 QC Professional?

The Janome HD9 QC Professional builds on the speed, strength and precision of the original Janome HD9 V2, with several design improvements and additional features aimed particularly at quilters, bag makers and anyone sewing bulky or multi-layered projects.

• Lower bed height: The machine bed sits closer to the table, creating a more comfortable and streamlined sewing position.
• Larger workspace: The 9-inch throat space is slightly longer, while the increased height provides more room for quilts, bags and bulky projects.
• Narrower sewing head: The slimmer head design improves visibility and gives you easier access to the sewing area.
• Hinged needle bar cover: The upper needle bar cover opens for easier cleaning and maintenance. It also provides access to the controls for adjusting the brightness of the LED sewing lights.
• Floating foot function: The presser foot can be raised slightly while sewing, helping thick or uneven layers feed more smoothly and reducing fabric slippage and puckering.
• Drop feed facility: Unlike the standard HD9, the HD9 QC Professional allows you to lower the feed dogs for free-motion quilting and other freehand sewing techniques.
• Faster sewing speed: The HD9 QC Professional sews at up to 1,650 stitches per minute, compared with 1,600 stitches per minute on the HD9.
• More powerful motor: The HD9 QC Professional has a larger 1.0-amp DC motor, compared with the 0.8-amp motor in the HD9 V2. This provides increased torque and improved power, particularly when sewing at lower speeds or through multiple layers.
