Lois Dress sewing pattern by Sew Over It.

Lois is a smart, chic, office-perfect dress that has a slight 70’s flair while still feeling modern and contemporary.
The bodice features novel shaping, with a clever combination of darts and pleats, perfectly positioned to reduce unnecessary bulk around the bust and waist. The faux-wrap, V-shaped neckline is completed with a cute collar and collar stand. There is no back neckline facing, creating a beautifully clean finish on the inside of the dress. Lois’s long sleeves finish with cuffs, but can easily be cut shorter to suit your desired length.
The dress comes with two hem lengths. Version 1 hits below the knee, and features short slits in the side seam for a little bit of extra movement and swish. Version 2 is a cute 60s-inspired length, designed to hit above the knee. This version looks fabulous with opaque tights and ankle boots for cooler weather.
Lois has no zips or buttons, and instead goes over the head thanks to the elasticated back waist. As well as making the dress easy to sew and fit, not to mention comfy to wear, the elastic creates a gorgeous gathered effect whilst nipping in the waist.
For the Lois Dress we recommend lightweight woven fabrics with a good drape such as viscose/rayon and crepe.

If you opt for the printed paper pattern we'll print it on our in-house large format A0 printer and post it to your address.
Please note that we don’t print the instructions. These will be emailed to you as a PDF‚ along with the digital pattern files‚ when we dispatch your paper pattern.
Occasionally some large pattern pieces may be split across two A0 sheets and will need to be joined together.
