Sew the ultimate layering piece with the Lorna Pinafore sewing pattern!
Lorna is the stylish pinafore you've been waiting for, perfect to wear over tops, blouses and shirts you already have in your wardrobe!
The straight skirt is midi length with a split at the back and slanted pockets. Choose between a curved or straight pocket opening to match the two bodice styles included in the pattern: version 1 is a classic shape with a gently curved neckline, perfect to wear over blouses and shirts; version 2 is a contemporary notched bodice that looks especially great over a simple knit top to show off the sharp lines.
Shaping is created by waist darts on the skirt and on the bodice front. The straps cross at the back in classic pinafore style on all versions and are secured to the back bodice with decorative buttons.
Lorna is fully lined to make sure your pinafore doesn't ride up when worn over tights and to give you the freedom to use many different types of woven fabrics, including denim, needlecord, wool or even brocade if you're feeling fancy!
Medium to heavy weight woven fabrics with some structure, such as denim, corduroy, cotton canvas, brocade, suiting, gabardine and wools. For the lining and pocket facing opt for something lighter such as cotton lawn, viscose or traditional lining fabrics.

If you opt for the printed paper pattern we'll print it on our in-house large format A0 printer and post it to your address.
Please note that we don’t print the instructions. These will be emailed to you as a PDF‚ along with the digital pattern files‚ when we dispatch your paper pattern.
Occasionally some large pattern pieces may be split across two A0 sheets and will need to be joined together.
Choose this option if you would like to print the pattern yourself at home or use your own copy shop/A0 printing service.
