Inspired by our love of vintage style, the Nancy Dress is a swing dress with a 1960s style and the comfort of a loose-fitting silhouette.
The Nancy Dress is full of interesting design details with lots of interesting techniques to try. The pattern is made up of unique panels which provide shaping at the bust and back of the dress. Extra darts at the back give the dress a lovely gentle fit. She has three quarter-length sleeves, and a bias-bound neckline with the option of two different neckline shapes: a high neck or a slight scoop. There are no zips or buttons - the dress is pulled on and off over your head, and features a keyhole opening detail at the back that closes with a hook and eye.
A lovely dress to take you from day to night, Nancy makes a casual weekend winner as well as the perfect understated party dress. Dress up with heels and a cropped jacket like our Amelia Jacket , or down with ankle boots and a big scarf; either way you’ll look fabulous! Nancy looks great with tights in chilly weather or bare legs when the sun comes out.
For the Nancy Dress we recommend lightweight woven fabrics with lots of drape, such as rayon, viscose and lightweight crepe. With minimal seams, Nancy is perfect for those big bold prints, but is equally lovely in a plain fabric for a contemporary look.
