Vlieseline 279 Cotton Mix 80/20 is a beautifully soft, mediumweight sew-in batting made predominantly from natural cotton fibres. Needle punched with an additional scrim for support, it combines a soft, comfortable feel with excellent stability while remaining relatively lightweight.
Specially developed for quilting, it is ideal for quilts, duvets and wall hangings, but can also be used to add light warmth and structure to garments such as jackets and coats. Suitable for use with all fabrics, it is a versatile choice for both dressmaking and craft projects.
Position the batting between or beneath your fabric layers and sew in place by hand or machine. For a durable finished project, Vlieseline recommends keeping the distance between quilting seams to no more than approximately 20cm.
Because of its high cotton content, Vlieseline recommends pre-washing the batting before use to help minimise shrinkage later. Do not wring after washing; gently squeeze out excess water and lay flat to dry.
