Change or cancel an order

If you need to change details of your delivery address, add items or remove items from your order or cancel it completely, please contact our Customer Services team. Please quote your order number and order date. If your order has already been despatched or delivered, then you will need to follow our Returns procedure (see below) in the event of any unwanted products. There are some products which we cannot cancel, refund or exchange, including cut fabrics and made-to-measure items (see below for more details).

We're sorry that it is not possible to make changes to your order once it has been dispatched. If you'd like to add products to your order, please place a new order for these items.


All products on our site have at least a full 1 year guarantee against manufacturing defects. Other items may carry a longer guarantee, which will be clearly stated in the product description. This guarantee does not cover consumable items such as needles, bobbins, light bulbs etc.

Missing items

If an item is missing from your order check the invoice attached to the outside of the packaging - it will usually tell you that the missing item will follow shortly. If not please contact us within 7 days of receiving the order stating your invoice number and missing items.

Errors or omissions

Sew Essential Ltd reserve the right to discontinue or change products and/or prices on the website without prior notice. Errors in advertised prices are not binding and may be adjusted at any time. We make every effort to deliver the correct goods within the estimated time scales, however delays are occasionally inevitable due to unforeseen factors. Sew Essential Ltd shall be under no liability for any delay or failure to deliver the correct products within estimated timescales.

WEEE Take Back Scheme

You can recycle your old electricals with us. If you're buying a new electrical item such as a sewing machine, we will recycle your old one for free. Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest growing type of waste. Many electrical items can be repaired or recycled, saving natural resources and the environment. If you do not recycle, electrical equipment will end up in landfill where hazardous substances will leak out and cause soil and water contamination – harming wildlife and also human health.

To remind you that old electrical equipment can be recycled, it is now marked with a crossed-out wheeled bin symbol. Please do not throw any electrical equipment (including those marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol) in your bin.

We are pleased to offer our customers the chance to recycle their old electrical items when buying new replacements. Simply package up your like-for-like item e.g. if you buy a new sewing machine from us, you may return your old sewing machine to us, along with a copy of your receipt for your original purchase. Please post it to the following address:-

Business to Businsess (B2B) Transactions

Return of Goods from B2B (Business to Business) contracts are exempt from the 14 day returns period. All returns must be in original packaging and will incur a 15% restocking charge of the value of the Goods, or a minimum fee of £10, whichever is the greater, plus any return carriage costs incurred by the Seller. All returned items must be in pristine condition and in original packaging and will be inspected on receipt.

If the B2B Buyer chooses to return the Goods due to the Goods being no longer wanted, the Buyer will be responsible for the return postage. The Seller can arrange return carriage for the Goods which the Buyer is responsible for covering the cost, precise costs of collection will be provided prior to collecting any Products and collection will only go ahead if the Buyer agrees to pay the cost of carriage.

The Seller has the right to refuse the return of any Goods which are classed as “custom made” or “special order” where there is no damage on delivery or defect with these Goods. All Goods are checked on return. In the event we find a fault or damage to the Goods, we reserve the right to refuse the return of Goods.
