Christmas is such a lovely time for many of us. Cherished time spent with family and friends, exchanging gifts and making memories. For me, remembering those who are less fortunate is also an incredibly important part of Christmas. Each year I make personal donations to children's charities in the hope I can make a child's Christmas that little bit better. This year I wanted to do more.
Introducing the Sew Essential Christmas charity raffle in support of the registered charity Kids Out. You can find Kids Out on Twitter and Facebook and they also have a wonderful website where you can read all about the incredible work they do helping hundreds of thousands of disadvantaged children every year.
Tickets are just £2 with all funds raised donated to the charity to help make Christmas special for children who have escaped domestic abuse. Oh and one lucky winner will receive our £125 bundle of gorgeous sewing goodies. Read on for full details and how to get involved.

Kids Out Charity
Every year over 20,000 children flee a situation of domestic abuse having suffered physical, emotional and sexual abuse. Many of them leave with only the clothes they stand up in and seek sanctuary in refuge having spent their life living in fear. Many of them have never experienced the childhood experiences I know me and my children take for granted - a walk on the beach, the joy of a brand new toy or a gift, a visit to a theme park.
I'm probably getting a bit personal here, but I'm fighting back the tears as I write this. So what can we do to make things better?
We can support Kids Out - a charity that works incredibly hard with supporters and partner charities to help these children just be children and to have fun. Each year they take over 25000 disadvantaged children on their National Day Out and take hundreds of thousands of children on a fun day and provide them with a toy box. Bringing moments of joy to these children's lives and bringing them hope for the future.
All raffle ticket monies will go straight to the charity via our Just Giving page and will be used to make the 2018 festive period that extra bit special for disadvantaged children.
Help us Spread the Word
Clearly the more entries we can generate the more support we can offer this fantastic charity and the amazing children they work with. We will be shouting it from the roof tops on social media using the hashtag #sewgift Please share, share and share again using the hashtag.
If you've got a blog why not share it with your followers and give them the chance to win this super prize?
You can also do it the good old fashioned way by telling all your sewing friends. Tell the postman or the lady in the corner shop even. Let's get the word out there!
