New Season Vogue Sewing Patterns Round Up
Vogue 1974 Trousers (6-14) and (16-24)

These extra large bell bottom trousers have a definite 1970s vibe, a blast from the past, bringing vintage cool back.
The trousers fit 1” below the waist, have a fly front zipper, side front pockets, back darts, a bias hem facing and stitched hems.
Those large bell bottoms are full of glamour and drama adding a real wow factor to your handmade wardrobe.
Sizes: runs from a 6-24 – the 6 is a 23” waist, 32.5” hip and the 24 is a 39” waist and 48” hip.
Fabrics such as a stretch woven, Tencel twills and wool suitings would work well.
I chose our stretch woven twill fabric, Dynasty, which comes in a lovely range of colours, including Black and Red.
Vogue 1973 Pussy Bow Blouse (6-14) and (16-24)

There are 2 options for this beautiful, classic pussy bow blouse.
Both views have a high neckline with pussy bow tie, bust darts for shaping and a button down front with a concealed button band for a high end finish.
There are options for a more fitted sleeve or a balloon sleeve. Both versions have a deep button down cuff and the balloon view has gathers at the shoulder head and where the sleeve joins the cuff.
Sizes: runs from a 6-24. The 6 is a 30.5” bust, 23” waist, 32.5” hip and the 24 is a 46” bust, 39” waist and 48” hip.
Fabrics: a wide range of woven fabrics, such as crepe de chine or poplin would work well. I have chosen a lovely ex-designer deadstock classic black and white polka dot drapey fabric.
Vogue 1969 Knit Dresses (8-16) and (18-26)

This pattern would be the perfect knockout party dress and features an A-symmetric short or long sleeve, a turtle or crew neck, with a sexy cut out section for the shoulder area.
Princess seams run from the bottom of the bodice piece, along the skirt and to the hem, which is midi or knee length.
The bodice is a completely separate piece with a topstitching to highlight the feature.
The dress is a very fitted bodycon style.
Sizes: It runs from a size 8 to 26. Size 8 is a bust 31.5”, waist 24”, hip 33.5” and the size 24 is a bust 48” waist 41”, hip 50”.
Fabric: I chose our Roanne fabric in royal blue with a definite purple hue shamlessly copying the great styling on the pattern packet. Roanne is a medium weight viscose elastane jersey.
Vogue 1968 Knit Dresses (8-16) and (18-26)

Another knockout dress with an A-symmetric neckline and off the shoulder feature on one side, which creates an interesting cut out across the front and back shoulder and the option to choose a short or long sleeve.
A feature seam runs down the front of the dress encompassing a gathering/ruching of the material to create a good fit and enable the fabric to drape and hang beautifully on the skirt.
Although the bodice is fitted the flared skirt hangs and skims the body from the hips down.
This dress would work well in a wide range of knit fabrics, 2-way stretch knits, cotton and or rayon spandex jersey, and stretch velvet.
Sizes: It runs from Size 8 to 26. The size 8 is a bust 31.5”, waist 24”, hip 33.5”. The size 24 is a bust 48” waist 41”, hip 50”.
I chose our Carlotta stretch velvet, which comes in a range of colours. The velvet fabric would hang beautifully especially with the slightly flared skirt.
Vogue 1966 Jacket and Trousers (8-16) and (18-26)

This is a vintage authentic re-issue pattern from 1975 and includes a wide leg trouser pattern with a high waist, belt loops and pleats under the waistband. It also includes a short or long sleeved cargo style jacket, which is casual and easy to wear, just throw it on in the spring and autumn for an extra layer.
Sizes: It runs from Size 8 to 26. The size 8 is a bust 31.5”, waist 24”, hip 33.5” The size 24 is a bust 48” waist 41”, hip 50”.
Fabric: I chose our olive green Sevenberry cotton twill - great for the easy to wear jacket versatile enough to wear with lots of other outfits.
For the wide leg trousers, I would try the indigo denim, which compliments the olive green beautifully.
Both fabrics can easily be mixed and matched with other items in your handmade wardrobe.
