Lining your dressmaking projects can give them a polished high end feel and help the fabric to hang well. Our anti-static polyester lining is available in a wide choice of colours, perfect for giving your garments a smooth, professional finish. If you’re after something softer and more comfortable, our Libra stretch lining is a beautiful option. We love using it even with woven fabrics to create an easy-to-wear, everyday feel that still looks polished.
How Do I Choose the Right Lining Fabric?
Generally, your lining fabric should be the same or slightly lighter weight than your main garment fabric and it’s also important to make sure you can clean it in the same way as your main garment fabric, for example by machine washing or dry cleaning.
Normally you would match the lining and main fabric in terms of the amount of stretch, however, we have used our stretch lining fabrics with woven fabrics with great success, and they give a softer, less formal feel than the anti-static polyester linings, perfect for everyday wear.
