Haida is a semi-fitted A-line wrap skirt with a facing. The front and back feature waist darts and topstitched decorative flaps with rounded corners. The skirt fastens with buckles. Haida is fully lined and is above-the-knee length.
Instructions for Viki Sews patterns are downloaded in PDF format via a QR code that is printed on the pattern pieces. The instructions can then either be printed or read directly from your phone, tablet or PC.
Recommended fabrics
To sew the skirt, choose suiting fabrics with the following properties:
- Medium weight, malleable, soft, non-stretch or with very little stretch.
- The fibre content can include natural fibres (wool, cotton), artificial fibres (viscose), blends (wool + silk, wool+ polyester, cotton + viscose, etc.), and synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).
- The following fabrics are recommended: wool suiting, gabardine, corduroy, suede, faux leather.
We do not recommend stretchy knits, thin fabrics (dress-weight wool) and heavyweight suiting (woven felt).
For the lining, we recommend artificial fibres (viscose), blends (viscose + elastane, viscose + polyester) or synthetics (polyester, polyester + elastane).
The garment in the photo is made of suiting. This fabric is medium weight, malleable, soft and with very little stretch. The fibre content is a blend of polyester, viscose and elastane.
The lining is 100% viscose.
