The Husqvarna Viking Designer Topaz 40 sewing and embroidery machine is packed full of features for both sewing and embroidery. There are loads of time saving ideas so you can concentrate on creating!

The large 3.5 inch colour touch screen makes it easy to navigate through various menus for embroidery, editing and sewing. The high resolution (320 x 240) gives clear text and realistic embroidery designs on screen. The easy graphic interface is designed by sewers for sewers and gives all functions and stitches at a touch. It's also simplified with built-in support with Quick Help - touch any stitch, icon or function to see its name and description.

With the large embroidery area and sewing surface you can create and embroider designs up to 240 x 150mm without re-hooping. More than 13 optional hoops are available in different sizes and for several uses and techniques like endless embroideries, quilting, textured embroideries and much more. Embroider large quilts, home dec projects, and garments easily plus with 200mm space to the right of the needle there is plenty of space for sewing larger projects. The Exclusive Sensor System Technology automatically and continuously adjusts to any fabric thickness for perfect, even feeding. The Automatic Jump Stitch Trim feature cuts your embroidery jump stitches automatically and pulls the thread tails to the wrong side of the fabric for quick finishing.

A 100 beautiful embroidery designs are loaded in the Designer Topaz 40, with all designed to take advantage of the Automatic Jump Stitch Trim feature. There is also a built-in embroidery font in three different sizes with both upper and lower case letters to label, date and embellish. On the sewing side, there are more than 200 stitches with up to 7mm of width and 4 sewing fonts with both upper and lower case letters. You can manipulate the included embroidery designs in a number of ways, including rotating, scaling and mirroring. You can also combine up to 5 designs and fonts into one, and save your new design to either your machines memory or a USB stick. Use the basic Design Positioning feature for perfect placement enabling you to turn any design into an endless design. Plus, using the Design Positioning Wizard makes it so easy!

A PC software package is available as a free download for Topaz 40 customers. You can organise your designs and create image files, print catalogues and more. You can also create embroidery fonts from any TrueType font on your PC computer using the QuickFont program. The optional 6D software also enables you to create brand new designs and is fully compatible with the Topaz 40.

The Topaz 40 is great for embroidery, but also has many great features for sewing. The Exclusive Sewing Advisor enables you to select your type of fabric and sewing technique and it will instantly set everything up for you. It sets the best stitch, stitch width, stitch length, thread tension, foot pressure, and sewing speed. The selected stitch is displayed with the recommended presser foot and needle size and type on the Interactive Colour Touch Screen. The exclusive sensor foot lift lowers and raises the presser foot automatically for every sewing technique in four positions: down, pivot, up, extra lift, leaving your hands free to guide fabric. With the Exclusive Sensor Foot Pressure system you always have the perfect presser foot pressure for the fabric you are sewing on and the Electronic Self-Adjusting Thread Tension sets the best tension for all sewing techniques and fabrics, or you can override it for more specialised techniques. The top and bobbin thread sensors alert you to thread breakages or when the bobbin is running low, and the automatic thread cutter means you aren't reaching for your scissors. Plus the LED lights give ample and even illumination of your project.
