Iris is a dress with a close-fitting bodice and a voluminous skirt. It features a shaped empire waist seam. The centre part of the back bodice is shirred. The dress has adjustable spaghetti straps. There is a flounce at the bottom of the skirt. Iris is below mid-calf length.

Recommended fabrics
To sew this garment, choose dress-weight fabrics with the following properties:
- Medium-weight, pliable, structured, non-stretch or with very little stretch, opaque.
- The fibre content can include natural fibres (cotton, linen), artificial fibres (viscose), blends (cotton + elastane, linen + silk, cotton + viscose, etc).
- The following fabrics are recommended: dress-weight viscose, linen, poplin, sateen, silk, cotton shirting, dress-weight denim, challis.
We do not recommend stretchy knit fabrics and lightweight sheer fabrics (chiffon, organza, stretch lace).
The dress in the photo is made of shirting fabric. The fabric is thin, light to medium weight, opaque, and does not crease easily. The fabric content is a blend of cotton (40%) and polyester (60%).
