Wing Needles
Klasse Wing needles, also known as hemstitch are used to create heirloom stitches. The fins on both sides will create a hole and the needle is used in conjunction with built in decorative stitches designed for that purpose.
What are Wing Sewing Machine Needles used for?
Wing sewing machine needles, also known as hemstitch needles, are used to create decorative openwork or heirloom-style stitches. The "wings" on the sides of the needle create larger holes in the fabric as you sew, resulting in an airy, lace-like effect.
On lightweight fabrics like linen, cotton, and batiste, wing needles help recreate vintage-style hemstitching and other decorative stitches and can be used for borders and embellishments on garments, tablecloths and handkerchiefs. They're most effective on natural woven fabrics where the needle can easily create the holes without damaging the fabric.
